Commissioned Portrait Paintings - Having established a renowned reputation as a portrait painter of many of the figureheads of Disability Arts and Culture since 2007 I have since been commissioned many times to create portraits of others. One such portrait was commissioned privately by an individual. They asked me to create a portrait of themselves with their partner and their cat as a 30th Birthday present to demonstrate their love and companionship. I worked directly from photo reference supplied by the client and it took 15 days to complete. The portrait is in its new home and is loved by the client.
I am also often approached by organisations to commission portraits. I was asked by Disability Rights UK to create a portrait of their CEO Director as a retirement gift. This included a 1 day portrait sitting to capture the likeness of the sitter, using drawings, photo reference and 6 days of studio time to finish the portrait. The final portrait sits in pride of place in its new home.
