The Orpheus Centre
Developing and exhibiting new artists.
I have been working with The Orpheus Centre in Surrey since 2023 and am now in my third year of project delivery. I was approached to work with a small group of Art Majors, enabling them to have an opportunity to work alongside a professional disabled artist, developing their skills, arts and curatorial practice.
Each year I devise a new 10 day programme that is delivered over 6 months and includes a real life visit, zoom sessions and an online virtual exhibition. ‘New Horizons’, ‘Windows’ and this year’s ‘Wild Things’ are the names of the Orpheus online exhibitions using the Kunstmatrix virtual gallery platform.

“The Creative Art Majors have had the brilliant opportunity of working with Tanya, as mentor and co-collaborator, on a series of innovative and creative online exhibitions for over three years now. These works actively promote inclusive practice and elevate marginalised voices - her impact on these young artists in terms of their personal practice and professional development is huge.”
